This is my portfolio of sites that I have worked on recently for you to have a look at.

All the sites you see here were entirely designed and coded by me.

But I don’t just do sites. I also like to tinker with customising Facebook and Twitter pages. Get in touch with me if you want to find out more.

  • Real online

Real is a new charity for disabled people in the borough of Tower Hamlets in London.

The key hurdles to building this site included a need to make it very accessible, with a basic responsive design.

During the summer of 2012, it is proposed that this site will expand to include a BuddyPress-based social network for disabled people to meet and build an online community. Later, it will gain a fully responsive, HTML5, mobile-capable version.

  • Linzi and Liam

This site was something a little different for me. It’s actually a website for my sister’s wedding (Congratulations Linz!).

I decided to eschew the traditional wedding website look, and instead go for a really friendly, informal look. I liked this hand-written Google font, and the appearance of photos littered around the homepage. The homepage also has a little narrative as the reader looks down the page. This narrative forms the four main sections of the site.

Other things worth pointing out include the use of Google Maps to show accommodation near the venue, and also a message board where people can leave a message for the happy couple!

  • SportHouse

Sporthouse is going to be one of the training venues for the 2012 Olympics, so they needed a brochure site to show their facilities.

In addition to the site, I also created custom Twitter, and YouTube pages with matching branding (also on Facebook, but not quite so branded!). Lots of plugins used here to connect up all the social media.

  • Luke Tyburski

    screenshot-for-screencandy

Luke was looking for a site to promote his adventures to raise money for charity.

He wanted a blog, news pages and a listing of his adventures, which people could leave comments on. In addition, each adventure integrates Google Maps and there are galleries available on all pages.

Good luck in your adventures Luke!

  • Akosia

Originally, this organisation had a small site which was more like a blog than a proper website.

Their new site still integrates all the existing blog posts into a shiny new package. There’s also some new enhancements like a projects listing, team bios and better social media integration.

However, the big changes really take place under the hood, where the site admins have a range of new custom tools to help their site up-keep.

  • Powervibe fitness studio

    powervibe-screen

This fitness studio wanted to refresh their old WordPress site into something new and more dynamic to fit their recent brand refresh.

They now have multiple slide-shows to let potential customers see inside the studio, as well as a blog, Twitter-feed and loads of client testimonials.

  • Retro Footy Shirts

    home-slide-9

This project was to design an affiliate site, based around a datafeed CSV file from various other online retailers.

The main objective of the client was to make the 1500 products easily searchable. This was achieved with extensive use of WordPress custom fields.

The great thing about this site is that I ignored premium datafeed plugins, and instead built a site which is easy to update, with no extra cost to the client.

  • Aron Brajtman accountants

    aronb-screenshot

The brief for this site was to make something business-like and trusted.

    Another large slideshow was used.

Also a fairly complex information architecture which requires multiple sub-menus (using the WordPress custom menu function).

  • Eqvvs

    home-slide-2

This personal fitness studio in London wanted a new WordPress website that would take advantage of their social marketing.

Extensive use of widgets on this site to show Facebook, Twitter and YouTube content.

Also contains a couple of large slide-shows and a dash of jQuery on some of the other pages.

  • PR-Productions

    home-slide-1

This was a fun project – not just when creating the look and feel of the site, but also when it came to building a ‘recent production’ box on the homepage.

This required me to get stuck into using WordPress ‘custom meta boxes’ to display little snippets of information for each new play.

The out-come was a site whose front page pulls lots of content from other locations, and therefore needs minimal admin work.

  • FilmsPlaysPlus

    home-slide-4

FilmsPlayPlus was something a little different for me. This is a reviews website where movies, plays, etc. are listed each week and rated.

It is mainly based around four custom WordPress post types.

The main feature here is a star ratings system which enables the admin to rate the items that they add to the site. In addition, members of the public can also comment on the reviews.

  • Greg Harding photography

    home-slide-5

This site was built primarily as a showcase for a photographers work. Displaying lots of large pictures in various way around the site was key here, including slide-shows and portfolio pages.

For this particular site, a premium WordPress theme (Themeforest’s Intermezzo theme) was purchased and heavily modified to produce the desired clean, clinical, scientific look.

There were also a lot of social media widgets required for this site.
